Papercraft FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does shipping work?

Orders are packaged within 1 working day of receipt of payment and take 2 to 5 days to be delivered to the main centres via Fastway Couriers.

Rural deliveries are sent via Paxi, which can take up to 7 days for very remote areas.  Papercraft South Africa is not responsible for delays incurred by the couriers.

Should a package be damaged, lost or stolen whilst in the care of our couriers, Papercraft South Africa will replace the item after an investigation confirms the loss or damage.

How do I get my tracking number?

As soon as your order leaves our warehouse, we will email your tracking number to you. If you do not receive it, please email info@papercraft.co.za.

Do you have assembly instructions?
What kind of glue should be used to assemble the models?

We recommend a tacky liquid glue or a fast drying gel-type glue to be used for the assembly. Our favourite brand is Aleene’s Tacky Glue or Bostick Clear Gel.

  • Standard White Craft Glue: can be used but will increase assembly time since it takes longer to dry.
  • Super Glue: only for experienced builders or after a good amount of practice
  • Hot Glue Guns: They may warp the shape of the paper – not recommended
  • Glue Sticks such as Pritt: not recommended
  • Double Sided Tape: not recommended for long term hold.

If using a fast drying glue is not an option, some of our customers have found small magnets or pegs are useful for holding pieces in place while they dry.

I've never done anything like this before. How hard is it?

Don’t worry!  There are 4 levels of difficulty from Beginner to Easy, Normal and Challenging. Start with something easy and work your way up.

To assemble you’ll need some free time and patience. Put on some music or your favourite TV series and let the world retreat. Our templates are made to be intuitive and fun. To help you along, here are some tips and tricks

What ages are your difficulty levels?

★ Beginner – ages 6+

★★ Easy – ages 10+

★★★ Normal – ages 12+

From the Easy models and up, models generally require supervision and instruction by adults.
